Basler Afrika Bibliographien (BAB)

The Basler Afrika Bibliographien are a private institution with various collections (library, rare books, archive, photo collection, poster collection, sound and video archives) on southern Africa. The extensive collection on Namibia is internationally known.
The catalogue of the library offers access to the general library containing books published after 1919, journals, newspapers and grey literature on Namibia and southern Africa.


University Library

The University Library Basel with its five locations is one of the most important public information centres in the region. With holdings of approximately 7.5 million books as well as e-books, specialist databases and journals, as well as its important historical collections, which date back to the 8th century, the library is one of the largest academic libraries in Switzerland. It is also the cantonal library of Basel-Stadt and is open to the public.

Project "Afrika-Portal"

The aim of the project "Afrika-Portal" is to offer access to all Africa-related collections in Basel through a joint meta catalogue. The project is lead by the University Library; the ZASB is a partner.
